Children from Rhigos Primary School became involved in the project in 2015 when Vattenfall, the Pen-y-Cymoedd wind farm operator, bussed the children up to the wind farm to show how the turbines are constructed. The children

were shown how the bases are constructed and then taken to the visitor centre where the concept of creating energy from wind-power were explained.

Part of the session at Pen-y-Cymoedd was used in the pilot project “The Changing Industrial Landscape of Wales” (pt 1 energy).

The children from the Rhigos Primary School were shown the pilot project and several children took part in a discussion group about the film’s subject matter:  coal mining and renewable energy.

The pilot includes images from a solar farm, a wind farm and an open-cast coal mine that are located in the area. Several of the children’s parents are involved in the energy industry and were happy to share some of their thoughts that were recorded and will be included in the “Energy+Notion” digital installation.
