Hetty Colliery, Winding House, near Hopkinstown, Pontypridd, South Wales, Feb-2016

This photograph taken for the Energy+Notion project.  The audio visual project looks at Wales’ changing energy landscape, especially with regard to coal and renewables. There are few remnants of over 600 deep mines that were sunk in South Wales. The Hetty winding wheel, that sits just above Hopkins town on the banks of the Rhondda River, is one of less that 20 that remain.
